Sony kauft Video-Service grouper.com
23. August, 2006 von SimonWie die Washington Post berichtet, hat Sony für $65 Millionen den Web-Video Service grouper.com gekauft. Grouper funktioniert ähnlich wie Google Video oder YouTube und erlaubt es den Usern, Videos online zu schauen sowie rauf- und runterzuladen. Dabei bietet es sich natürlich auch an, die Videos auf ein portables Gerät zu speichern. Chef von Sony Pictures Michael Lynton glaubt an die Kraft der Uservideos: “I think user-generated content and the sites around (them) are businesses or platforms unto themselves in the same way that television networks”. Mit der PSP und downloadbarem Content im Hinterkopf sicherlich kein schlechter Kauf…
